General Questions

Why Is NOVEC Energy Solutions Closing ?

NES has made a business decision to discontinue its natural gas supply operations. We will share additional closure and transition information as it becomes available.

When will NES officially stop providing natural gas supply services ?

NES plans to discontinue its natural gas supply business effective at the end of your December 2026 billing cycle. Your account’s supplier-change date may differ based on your utility’s billing cycle and transition procedures. Some billing cycles may extend into January 2027.

Will my natural gas service be interrupted ?

No! Your local natural gas utility remains responsible for operating the distribution system and delivering gas to your property.

NES’s closure does not mean your utility gas service will be disconnected. Supplier transitions will be coordinated with your local utility.

Do I need to contact my local utility ?

NES will notify you if you need to take action. You may also contact your local utility to ask about available natural gas supply options.

What will happen to my natural gas supplier when NES closes ?

Your natural gas supply will transition from NES under your local utility’s procedures. Depending on the options available to you, you may receive supply from your utility or choose another competitive supplier.

Will I automatically be returned to my local utilitys natural gas supply service ?

Automatic return to utility supply depends on your local utility’s procedures and the transition arrangements for your account. We recommend contacting your local utility for further information.

Can I choose another natural gas supplier ?

Yes, if your local utility’s program offers competitive natural gas supply. Review the supplier’s rates and terms before enrolling.

What happens to my existing fixed-rate contract ?

NES is reviewing existing agreements as part of the closure process. You will receive notice explaining how your agreement will be affected, the applicable end date, and how supply charges will be handled through your transition. The planned business closure date established your contract’s end date unless otherwise notified by NES.

Will I be charged an early termination fee ?

NES does not charge termination fees

Will I continue receiving my natural gas bill ?

Your local utility will continue to handle billing according to its established procedures. During the transition, your bill may include NES supply charges for gas delivered before your supplier change becomes effective.

Will I receive a final bill from NES ?

Remaining NES supply charges for gas delivered before your supplier change may appear on a later utility bill. The billing process and timing depend on your local utility.

Do I still need to pay my natural gas bill ?

Yes. Continue paying your natural gas bills by the due dates shown, including charges for gas supplied by NES before your supplier change.

Will my natural gas rate change ?

Your future gas supply rate will depend on the supplier and rate plan applicable after your NES service ends. Customers should review the rates and terms offered by their local utility or any competitive supplier they select.

What if I am moving to a new address ?

Contact your local utility to start, stop, or transfer gas delivery service. Contact NES customer service with questions about your existing NES supply agreement.

Who should I contact if I smell gas or have a natural gas emergency ?

Natural gas emergencies should be reported immediately to your local gas utility or emergency services. NES does not operate or maintain local gas distribution pipelines.
